Habanera of Calella de Palafrugel

Habanera of Calella de Palafrugel

One of the maritime quarters of the town of Calella de Palafrugell is called Port Bo. Very near our campsite, it’s a historical site that was declared a Cultural Feature of National Interest, where the original layout of its streets and the bright white of its portico buildings running along the beachfront are preserved.

Where else would they dock the boats after fishing? It was under the porticoes facing the sea where fish was auctioned, where fishing gear was sheltered and where today, locals and travellers talk and enjoy the views, as well as feel the charm, flavor and sea history of Port Bo in Calella de Palafrugell.

However, Port Bo is not just for the daytime. When night falls on the first Saturday of July, you’ll be amazed by the Cantada de Habaneres of Calella de Palafrugell, which is held in the square of Port Bo. It’s an image that you can photograph with your camera, your mind and your heart, an unforgettable experience that will always be engraved in your memory. It’s music by the sea, on the beach, under the moon and right by Camping Moby Dick.
